IPEX delivers chilled mobile management experience for refrigeration specialists

Throughout its 58 years of operation, Acme has attained a plethora of awards including the CEDA Outstanding Achievement Award and Catering Insight Awards’ Service and Maintenance Provider of the Year, further solidifying its position within the marketplace as a flagship provider.

The Challenge

Back in 2019, Acme’s previous mobile set-up caused multiple logistical challenges. Varying contract end-dates across its 90+ mobile base, and limited visibility of its deployed handsets and their usage led to unpredictable out-of-bundle charges and monthly invoicing. This meant the business couldn’t keep full control over its costs and had no way to keep software up to date, enforce recommended policies on mobile devices or manage lost or stolen handsets.

The Solution

IPEX proposed unifying Acme’s numerous mobile-based contracts into one single contract, via its ‘Any Network, One Bill’ solution, with a comprehensive contract end date and a Shared Data Pool for the entire estate.

Unlike Acme’s previous solution, IPEX also proposed deploying Mobile Device Management software across the mobile estate, enabling Acme to control its mobile estate better. The solution also enabled Acme staff to select which mobile network was the most appropriate for them, based on home and common working locations.

The Results

Staff were pleased that they could choose the best network for their specific needs, and leverage a more reliable signal on their handset, enabling them to be more reactive in customer interactions and more collaborative internally.

From an operational point of view, bills are 100% predictable, without a single instance of any ‘out-of-bundle’ charges, thanks to IPEX’s Shared Data Pool, meaning no impact on budget or future planning, resulting in an approximate 38% reduction in monthly bills.

Plus, IPEX’s MDM (Mobile Device Management) software enabled Acme’s IT team to enact a range of policies to ensure full compliance with Cyber Security Essentials, as well as the automatic distribution of company software to Service Engineers, ensuring that projects were completed optimally by enabling them to complete their work more effectively.
